Underdog's real payout ladder, and the one everyone republishes by mistake
Tables read from Underdog's own help centre (article updated 2026-07-30) and its governing rules page on 25 August 2026.
Most payout charts on the internet list Underdog's Standard pick'em ladder as 3x, 6x, 10x, 20x. That sequence is real, and it belongs to Streaks, a different Underdog product with its own cash-out mechanic. The actual Higher/Lower Standard ladder starts at 3.5x, and the difference changes every break-even on the board. Below are the real numbers, with the two honest caveats no aggregator prints.
Standard
| Picks | Pays | Every pick must be | Kept at coin-flip picks |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2 | 3.5x | 53.45% | 12.5% |
| 3 | 6.5x | 53.58% | 18.8% |
| 4 | 12x | 53.73% | 25.0% |
| 5 | 20x | 54.93% | 37.5% |
| 6 | 35x | 55.29% | 45.3% |
| 7 | 65x | 55.08% | 49.2% |
| 8 | 120x | 54.97% | 53.1% |
The short end is the story: a 2-pick Standard holds 12.5% at coin-flip picks, half of PrizePicks' 25% on the same bet. The long end inverts it, with the 8-pick keeping more than half of every coin-flip stake. Neither half of that sentence generalises to the other.
Flex
| Picks | Tiers | Every pick must be | Kept at coin-flip picks |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3 | 3.25x / 1.09x | 55.39% | 18.5% |
| 4 | Deliberately blank; see below | ||
| 5 | 10x / 2.5x | 54.75% | 29.7% |
| 6 | 25x / 2.6x / 0.25x | 53.82% | 30.7% |
| 7 | 40x / 2.75x / 0.5x | 55.42% | 45.5% |
| 8 | 80x / 3x / 1x | 55.07% | 48.4% |
The blank row, and why it stays blank
Underdog's own two pages disagree on the 4-pick Flex. The help centre lists 6x with 1.5x insurance; the governing rules page lists 7.2x with 1.8x. Neither page carries a date that settles which is current, and the gap is worth 3.24 percentage points of break-even, which is bigger than any edge a bettor is hunting. A chart that picks one and prints it is guessing with your money. Read that row off your own submission screen, and treat any site that shows you a confident 4-pick Flex number as a site that did not check.
What Underdog does not publish
Shifted and modified pick multipliers are described in prose with no numbers anywhere. Correlated picks move the payout by an amount shown only while you build the entry. So, as with every operator we have measured: the published ladder is a starting point, and the payout that counts is the one on your screen at submission.
